Trevoh Chalobah Set to Step in for Guehi in Three Lions Selection

The Chelsea star followed his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, emerging as the 21st pair of siblings to earn caps for the national team.

The Chelsea defender is expected to link up with the Three Lions selection to cover for injured Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is scheduled to meet up with the squad for England's remaining World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, but it has still not been made public.

The national side have already qualified for the upcoming World Cup.

Chalobah was given his first selection under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then earned his first cap against the Senegalese team.

In September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unlucky to be excluded from the squad for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and additionally did not select him for the next October matches.

Tuchel has been an significant influence in Chalobah's career, having handed him his Chelsea first appearance in 2021.

Chalobah has featured in almost every matches for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the side in third place in the Premier League, in the EFL Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the European competition.

Guehi sustained a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar in their last match.

There are expected to be other additions to the selection. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has confirmed that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (a concussion) will withdraw from the national team.
